La Liga News: 8 December 2015: Gareth Bale Left Out Of Real Squad, Griezmann Set For Atleti Stay

Forward Gareth Bale will be rested for Real Madrid's final Champions League group game against Malmo on Tuesday. Real have qualified for the last 16 as Group A winners. Bale's name has been left off the 19-man squad as boss Rafael Benitez rotates his players before Sunday's league match at Villarreal.
Antoine Griezmann has insisted he is happy to stay at Atlético Madrid despite reports José Mourinho has made the France forward his main transfer target for January. "I do not feel the need to play in Ligue 1, nor in the Premier League or in Serie A," he said on the Canal Football Club. "I am in Spain – I’m happy. Life here, football, I like it all."
New Valencia manager Gary Neville received a boost as goalkeeper Diego Alves trained for the first time since May. The Brazilian injured his cruciate ligament at the end of last season and has been recovering over the previous months.
Real Madrid want to sign Robert Lewandowski and the Bayern Munich striker is open to the idea, according to Guillem Balague. Bayern want to renew Lewandowski's contract which expires in 2019 but Balague believes the Poland international is intrigued by the possibility of moving to the Bernabeu.
Rafael Benitez confirmed that there would be no place for Martin Odegaard in Real Madrid’s final Champions League group game against Malmo on Tuesday despite the Spanish side having nothing to play for. Real Madrid face the Swedes, who are contesting a Europa League spot, having already secured qualification and top spot in Group A but there is still no place for the teenager.
Atletico Madrid and Benfica will have to slug it out at the Stadium of Light in Lisbon to see who emerges top the group and will therefore be more likely to avoid a top team in the last 16 of the Champions League. As Benfica won the clubs' previous encounter 2-1 a draw would see it finish top by virtue of a better head-to-head record.
Espanyol fans were far from impressed as their side were held to a 1-1 draw by Levante on Monday night at Cornella El-Prat. A mistake from Enzo Roco allowed the visitors to take the lead through Jefferson Lerma in the sixth minute, with substitute Gerard Moreno netting the equaliser in the second half.
