The UEFA Champions League knockout stage draw is now complete in Nyon, Switzerland, and we have got some interesting matchups in the Round of 16.
The most important one, obviously, involves Barcelona, who gets to face Arsenal in February of next year after the European Cup takes its usual two-month break. The Blaugrana might have a history with the Gunners in this competition, having faced the English contenders at the 2006 Final in Turkey, won by the Catalan giants in one of the most memorable finals ever. They've also faced a couple of times in knockout rounds in the Pep Guardiola Era, and Barça won both ties as well.
A matchup like this brings up some amazing storylines: how many Barça players will be linked with Arsene Wenger until they face each other (probably one hundred)? Will Per Mertesacker be able to run with the 'MSN' trio on the counter-attack (probably not)? How will former Blaugrana prospect Hector Bellerín fare against Neymar on the left side? And obviously, how many Arsenal players will be injured by the time this tie starts?
This is one of the most interesting matchups of the Round of 16 stage. This is the full result of the draw:
Gent (BEL) vs Wolfsburg (GER)
Roma (ITA) vs Real Madrid (ESP)
Paris Saint-Germain (FRA) vs Chelsea (ENG)
Arsenal (ENG) vs Barcelona (ESP)
Juventus (ITA) vs Bayern München (GER)
PSV Eindhoven (NED) vs Atlético Madrid (ESP)
Benfica (POR) vs Zenit (RUS)
Dynamo Kyiv (UKR) vs Manchester City (ENG)
Who do you think is going into the quarter-finals, Blaugranes?
