In the early hours of Thursday morning, Barcelona defeated Guangzhou Evergrande, 3-0, in the FIFA Club World Cup semifinal. It was the Luis Suarez show as the striker became the first player to ever record a hat trick in the competition's history.
Here's a look at his three goals:
This first goal is a typical 'right place, right time' goal. Ivan Rakitic's long range strike is palmed away by the goalkeeper, but Suarez is there to pounce on the rebound and put it into the net.
This goal is absolute perfection. Suarez plays a one-two with Andres Iniesta. The maestro's inch-perfect chipped pass over the top back to Suarez finds him in stride and allows him to chest it up and finish past the goalkeeper for a wonderful goal.
The hat trick-clinching goal came from the penalty spot after Munir was fouled inside the box. The Uruguayan stepped up and made no mistake finishing confidently to the goalkeeper's right.
