A chance to predict the score of tonight's La Liga clash between FC Barcelona and newly-promoted Real Betis at the Camp Nou
All things being equal, FC Barcelona will likely enter tonight's match with Real Betis in need of a win to retain top spot headed into 2016, as both Real and Atletico Madrid face equally winnable matches at home to Real Sociedad and away to Rayo Vallecano respectively. A win for Real Madrid at 4pm CET will see them usurp their two fierce rivals to claim temporary control at the top of the table, before Atletico Madrid would have a chance to go on top themselves with just a single point against local rivals, Rayo.
Ergo, Barcelona could start tonight's match in third place; not that one should expect them to remain their for long once this match gets going. While Real Betis travel exceptionally well and boast one of the better away records in the division, they are goal-shy to say the least and against a side that can be so offensively explosive, they surely don't stand much of a chance of extending that record.
The only things that may go in their favour are the festive hangover, which we have seen impact a few of the top teams in England over the past few days, and a bit of complacency, which could rear it's ugly head at any given time or place.
Equally, it's worth pointing out that Neymar alone has scored more goals than Real Betis this season in La Liga. Luis Suarez has scored an equal amount; basically, it's really tough to envisage anything other than a home win. But how do you see tonight's match going? A Blaugrana victory to close out 2015? Or a shock to wrap up the year? Let us know by leaving your prediction in the comments section below. Best of luck!
