UEFA have rejected Barcelona’s appeal against punishment for the display of Estelada flags and so the club is going to the Court of Arbitration for Sport. Barca confirmed on Wednesday that the European governing body had dismissed their appeal against sanctions received for the presence of pro-Catalan independence flags at Camp Nou in the Champions League game against Bayer Leverkusen.

Sunday's Club World Cup final win over River Plate followed on from successes earlier in the year in the Copa del Rey, La Liga, Champions League and European Supercup, with Luis Enrique's team winning five of the six competitions decided in the last 12 months.

Marc Bartra has been given the chance to leave Barcelona in January by Sevilla, who want a loan deal with a view to a permanent transfer. Bartra has rarely been in Luis Enrique’s plans but Sport believe the Coach may be reluctant to let the defender leave in the winter, though a final decision will be made in the coming days.

Marc Bartra could be offered to Celta Vigo as part of Barcelona’s attempts to sign Nolito, it’s been claimed. Bartra has been linked with a loan move to Sevilla but Mundo Deportivo say the Catalans could try to convince Celta to part with Nolito by including a loan deal for Bartra in the approach, one of Barca’s last resorts to try and push through a transfer.

Edgar Davids has hailed the focus shown by Neymar in improving his craft since his move to Barcelona but says he is still not on the level of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
