The Argentine finished the season with 37 goals from 34 games

It may come as little consolation to Lionel Messi but the Argentine has claimed the Pichichi for the fourth time in his career after finishing the Liga season with 37 goals from 34 games.

Messi finished well clear of team-mate Luis Suarez and Cristiano Ronaldo to scoop the award after grabbing two goals on the final day of the season.

He could have had a hat-trick as well, but saw a penalty well-saved by Eibar goalkeeper Yoel.

  • Of those goals 32 have been with his left foot, four with his right and one header.
