It's unofficially official now
It's almost official: Barcelona have a new manager, and it's going to be Athletic Bilbao's Ernesto Valverde.
After multiple reports last week, it was time for widely respected Basque newspaper El Correo to confirm the worst kept secret in Catalonia: Valverde has accepted Barça's offer and will manage his last match at Bilbao against Atlético Madrid this Sunday.
According to the report, Barça president Josep Maria Bartomeu has already informed the players that Valverde's deal is all but done now, and the Spaniard will be joining the club this summer.
Current Barça manager Luis Enrique will be in charge of his last game at Camp Nou against Eibar this Sunday, and his farewell match will be the Copa del Rey Final against Deportivo Alavés at the Vicente Calderón next Saturday.
