Six FIFA officials have been arrested in Zurich at the request of the United States Department of Justice. The BBC reports that the Wednesday morning raids took place at a hotel and that the six are ‘suspected of having received bribes totalling millions of dollars.’

Athletic Bilbao have made a ‘firm offer’ to Arsenal for left-back Nacho Monreal, reports in Spain say. Marca put the fee on the table at €8m, despite Arsenal paying Malaga €10m plus add-ons when they signed the defender in January 2013. But the Gunners are willing to sell Monreal as he is approaching the final 12 months of his contract and they aren’t of a mind to offer a renewal.
