Carlo Ancelotti has been fired as manager of Real Madrid, club president Florentino Perez announced on Monday. After winning the Champions League in his first season in charge, Ancelotti failed to claim any major trophies in 2014-15, leading the club to announce his departure two days after the end of their campaign.

His players have spoken out: They want him to stay. Those fans polled by the Madrid media want him to stay, and by an overwhelming majority.
