Sergio Ramos is pretty good at making headlines and he made a few more with his comments after Spain’s narrow 1-0 win over Iran on Wednesday.
The Real Madrid captain gave his view with regards Lionel Messi and Diego Maradona and was full of praise for his Barcelona rival.
“In Argentina they know that Maradona is light years away from the best Argentine player in history, which for me is Lionel Messi,” he said.

Surprising words from Ramos but then perhaps not surprising when you find out that he was actually responding to earlier comments from Maradona who said Ramos was not “a crack” player like Diego Godin.
