Xavi Hernández Set to Sign for Qatar Team

As it turns out, the Xavi Hernández Era is coming to a close at Barcelona.

After a summer of rumors, the legendary Barça captain decided to stay with the Blaugrana, and he still was able to contribute heavily to Luis Enrique's system. Now that the transition process is over, Xavi's role at the club tends to get smaller and smaller. Number Six wants to go out in style, so he picked this season as his last.

According to widespread reports from Spain, Xavi will sign with Al Sadd from Qatar. Sources close to the situation also confirmed the news to Barça Blaugranes. Xavi has traveled to Qatar to sign a three-year deal that includes responsabilities on the pitch and coaching the youngsters off the pitch. Since the football season in Qatar only lasts six months, Hernández is not going to deal with a lot of physical stress and all the pressure that comes with his current situation at the Blaugrana.

With the most games played with the Barça shirt in history, Xavi will always be remembered as the maestro of a glorious decade, and especially the victorious years under Pep Guardiola.

You'll never be forgotten, Captain. We'll love you until eternity.

Thank you.
