A chance to top La Liga again; that's what is at stake later on today when FC Barcelona taken on Rayo Vallecano at the Camp Nou. For the first time since El Clasico, Barça can top the standings and you better believe that Luis Enrique will be sending out a team that he believes is capable of getting the job done. He has a couple of issues to contend with: Neymar's suspension and Sergio Busquets' injury throw something of a spanner into the works, but this season the Blaugrana are blessed with incredible squad depth and should be as strong as ever.
Certainly, they should be strong enough to see off the threat of Paco Jemez' Rayo Vallecano without much trouble. They usually do, and Cules will be hoping, praying, that today is not the exception. With all that's at stake, we cannot afford to pass up this golden opportunity afforded to us by Athletic Bilbao. It places a little less pressure on the Clasico, and it could even give us a chance to build a lead of our own when we host Los Blancos later in the month.
Maybe I'm getting ahead of myself; but things are looking good for the Blaugrana at present. Real Madrid are faltering. We've just booked our place in the Copa del Rey final and will hopefully follow that up by progressing in the UEFA Champions League. The treble might still be a pipe dream, but we can help move that dream one step closer to reality with a win today.
