Barcelona want to keep Gerard Pique, Sergio Busquets, Jordi Alba and Sergi Roberto at the club but want the quartet to review their contracts, according to Mundo Deportivo.
The four players are some of the team’s top earners, behind Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Antoine Griezmann, and Barca are hoping they can help the club out financially.
Barca have been hit financially hard by the coronavirus pandemic and are working hard to get the wage bill down ahead of next season.
New boss Ronald Koeman has already been busy trimming the squad. Suarez has been told he’s not in the Dutchman’s plans and his contract could be terminated.
Ivan Rakitic, Samuel Umtiti and Arturo Vidal could follow suit as Koeman tries to shake things up after a chaotic 2019-20 season on and off the pitch.
