The Catalans weren’t afraid of the Brazilian joining their rivals
Gerard Pique says Barcelona players talked about the possibility of Neymar joining Real Madrid in the summer transfer window.
The Brazilian was keen to leave Paris Saint-Germain and was linked with both a Camp Nou return and a shock move to the Bernabeu over the summer.
However, neither club were able to agree a deal with PSG, although Pique insists his side still have a great relationship with the Brazilian.
“We weren’t afraid, but the possibility was there and we spoke about it in the locker room. But in the end it was Neymar’s decision, he stayed in Paris and I hope he does his best, the relationship with him is fantastic.”

Neymar has been doing the business for PSG on the pitch after returning to action this season. He has four goals in five games and has said he will “defend his club tooth and nail” and give “100 per cent for us to achieve great things.”
