But the time was not right for the move
Ajax goalkeeper Andre Onana says that Barcelona were keen on bringing him back to the Camp Nou during the summer transfer window.
Onana left Barcelona for Ajax in 2015 but there were rumors over the summer he could return to the club to replace the outgoing Jasper Cillessen.
The 23-year-old has now confirmed there was some truth in the speculation and that Barcelona were in touch during the transfer window.
“Barcelona came back in for me this summer. It is home to me. I was part of the club. Logically, they are always keen to repatriate their own. Perhaps it was not the right time to go back, and maybe I will never go back! This summer, though, was not right for it.”

Onana added that PSG were also interested in him but he ultimately opted to stay at Ajax, while Barca brought in Neto from Valencia with Cillessen going the other way.
