Barcleona could dip into the transfer window in January after Rafinha ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament against Atletico Madrid. The Brazilian is not expected to play again this season and could also miss next summer’s Copa America.

Diego Simeone has defended his team’s style after Saturday’s draw with Barcelona. He said: “Neither of us had clear chances to score. It was a tactical battle and they did well to pick up a point.Our styles were very similar because we were both playing for something similar. I liked everything my team did. Barcelona target Frenkie de Jong has played down comparisons with legend Johan Cruyff. He said: “I try not to take notice of comparisons and focus on what I have to do,” he said. “Of course it’s good that you’re compared with [Cruyff], but I am a long way from his level and I will never be him.”
