Arturo Vidal: “Instagram incident” is a closed case

The player says he feels much happier now

Arturo Vidal says he’s much happier now than at the start of the season, and considers his “Instagram incident” a closed case, as FC Barcelona prepare to take on PSV Eindhoven in the UEFA Champions League. The midfielder posted an angry emoji on his Instagram account after a match previously, and complained publicly about a lack of playing time. There was rumored to be a meeting between him and manager Ernesto Valverde.

“Everyone saw what happened, the manager spoke on it,” Vidal said. “It’s not good to talk about that. The team is united, we are very focused on doing well, and playing well tomorrow.”

“I feel much happier now, I have more minutes, I play more minutes,” the Chilean continued, “I hope to continue to play a lot, and help the team a lot in difficult times.”

“We come with a lot of confidence, we want to win the group, we want to give the fans a good spectacle.”

Vidal also spoke about his teammate, Ousamane Dembélé: “Sometimes we talk a lot about what happens off the pitch, and not on it. Dembélé has been very important this season, a young player, a player who needs a lot of kindness and advice... He is a strong player, and as he gains confidence, he will be even more important. He has scored many important goals, we all know that, so we have a lot of confidence in him.”
