The champions are in action on Wednesday
Barcelona boss Ernesto Valverde has been talking ahead of Wednesday’s trip to bottom side Leganes in La Liga.
The fixture comes in between games against Girona and Athletic Bilbao making it a hectic week for the Spanish champions.
Ahead of the game, Valverde talked about Lionel Messi being missing from Fifa’s The Best Awards, VAR and what kind of team he might put out against Leganes.

Valverde on Messi
“Everyone will have their opinion, I have mine. I do not think it’s time to compare players, but for us, Messi is the best. I have nothing else to say, Modric is a great player who has had a great year.”
Valverde on VAR
“Deep down, we all want the technology to help us in the game and make football fairer, especially in clearcut situations such as whether or not the ball crosses the line.
“Right now, everything is being adjusted to and VAR certainly has some parts that I like more than most because it gives another insight into important questions.
“But there is another part in which I don’t think it is clear and I don’t quite know how to say it. Where do you decide where and when to do it? We were punished recently with a foul in midfield that was non-existent.
”I think that VAR can clear up controversy but I don’t think everything is clear yet.
Valverde on Leganes
“Before we played Girona, we wanted to go out and win all three games. The Girona game didn’t allow that to happen, and so our plan now is to win the game that’s up next.
“If you’re talking about specific names of players who may play, our approach is going to be similar.
“We have the team and the players to be able to deal with moments like these in the schedule, where there are so many games bunched together.
“It’s true that we have three tough games in six days. We’ve played one already, and now we are going for the other two.
Valverde on Malcom and Munir
“Malcom is included and Munir is another one in the squad. The game is there to be won, with them or with others.”
