The boss is not happy at the Camp Nou
Ernesto Valverde is reportedly at odds and quite frustrated with Barcelona president Josep Bartomeu regarding a few different matters.
The first frustration began after Barcelona’s Champions League loss to AS Roma last season. The Barcelona manager was apparently unhappy with how Bartomeu disclosed negative details to the media after the loss.
The second frustration is regarding the lack of a new contract. Valverde’s current deal ends in June and another deal or extension hasn’t been agreed upon as of yet.
Those two things combined make things a bit rockier for Barcelona in an important year that I’m sure most supporters don’t want to hear.
Barcelona’s performance in the Champions League this season likely has a good deal to do with how Valverde’s future at the club will look. Perhaps that’s the simple explanation as to why a deal hasn’t come into place yet.
