Born in the Netherlands to a Surinamese-American father and a Dutch mother, Dest is a United States international who came up through the Ajax youth system.
Only 19, Dest has limited experience as a first-teamer but is considered one of the most promising prospects on the market.
Norwich City’s Max Aarons, an England youth international, is another option for right-back.
There is also an in-house solution, which is Emerson, who plays on loan to Real Betis. The 21-year-old has been impressing in La Liga since last year.
Semedo has been heavily linked with a move to Wolverhampton Wanderers.
