But a deal has not yet been agreed with Ajax
Barcelona are reportedly “confident” they will beat Bayern Munich to Sergino Dest but are stil yet to reach an agreement with Ajax for the full-back.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the two clubs are still battling it out to land the 19-year-old, but Barcelona think they will be successful.
It seems certain that Dest will depart Ajax before the close of the transfer window but it’s not completely certain where he’ll go, although it’s no secret he likes Barca.
Mike Verweij at De Telegraaf reports Ajax are close to an agreement “with Barcelona and/or Bayern” and the defender is continuing to train as normal with the Dutch side.
Ajax reportedly want around €25 million for Dest. Bayern are said to have made two bids already, while Barcelona made an offer following the sale of Nelson Semedo.
However, finances remain an issue for Barcelona with reports suggesting they have offered to take Dest on loan for the first season and will make the transfer permanent in 2021.
