No deal agreed with Galatasaray for Arda Turan, says agent

The midfielder’s future is still up in the air

The future of Arda Turan has been the subject of speculation all summer and despite the close of the transfer window looming, it seems we are no closer to an answer.

Recent rumors had suggested he was on his way back to Turkey and Galatasaray president Dursun Özbek has admitted he would be warmly welcomed back at his former club.

However, his agent, Ahmet Bulut, says he has not spoken to Gala and that any talk of a deal is completely incorrect at present.

“The news that Arda Turan agreed with Galatasaray is not true," he said.

"I didn't talk to Barcelona about Arda Turan."

So where does that leave us? While Ernesto Valverde has not been at the club long, it seems pretty evident so far that Arda simply does not feature in his plans for the coming season.

However, Barca seem keen to recoup as much of the €34m fee they paid for him as they can, which may be part of the problem of offloading him.

Arsenal have been linked, but that talk appears to have gone quiet, while Manchester United have been rumored in recent days, but it’s hard to see that happening either.

It’s still difficult to see Arda being at the club come September, and a return to Turkey is probably the most likely option, if an agreement can be found, and that looks like being the tricky bit.
