Barcelona to make fourth bid for Coutinho - report

The Blaugrana are apparently refusing to give up

Another day and yet another update in the Philippe Coutinho saga with Sky Sports’ Kaveh Solhekol reporting that Barcelona are lining up yet another bid for Liverpool’s Philippe Coutinho.

The offer would come after Barcelona have had their previous three bids rejected by Liverpool and in direct contrast to speculation suggesting Barcelona were close to giving up on the Brazilian.

Solhekol is reporting that the deal would be for a total of £138 million. That number would be comprised of: “£101m up front plus £37m in add ons linked to Champions League appearances”.

The entire saga drags on with Barcelona seemingly putting all of their eggs in the Coutinho basket one day, and the Dembele basket another.

It seems that upon having yet another Dembele bid rejected, they’ve gone back to the drawing board and moved the eggs back to Coutinho.

Meanwhile, Coutinho will miss the second leg of Liverpool’s Champions League qualifier with manager Jurgen Klopp claiming he does not know when he will play for the Reds again.

"He can't start tomorrow because on top of that, he's now ill," he said via Sky Sports.

"It will take time because he has not trained for a long time. I've no idea at this moment (when he will return), we would have to check when he is back."

The wait for that big transfer signing continues.
