Valencia vs Barcelona, 2016 La Liga: Final Score 2-3 as Barça collapse, come back to win

WINNER WINNER LAST MINUTE WINNER DINNER

Barcelona have now won three games in a row since the return from the international break, but Saturday's win against Valencia was not easy, with the Blaugrana getting a very difficult 3-2 comeback victory, thanks to goals from Lionel Messi (2) and Luis Suárez, with Munir El-Haddadi and Rodrigo scoring for Valencia. The Blaugrana collapsed in the second half, but found a way to come back and pick up three gigantic points on the road with a last-minute goal from Lionel.

FIRST HALF

Before we get into the game, two things:

1 - The referee sucks.

2 - Andrés Iniesta might be out for six months and I want to cry.

Now, onto the game: Barça started very slowly, without any movement and failing to break down Valencia's deep marking. The home team conceded possession to the Blaugrana and challenged the visitors to create something, and Valencia's gameplan worked very well. Until Lionel Messi happened.

The Argentine found a goal thanks to a fantastic low effort that beat Diego Alves, and the game changed from there. Messi, Neymar and Suárez got more into the game, switched positions constantly and had at least two clear chances to score a second goal, but Alves made two amazing saves.

Valencia decided to go forward after defending for 40 minutes, and Dani Parejo had a glorious chance, but Ter Stegen did well to come off his line and stop the shot to protect Barça's halftime lead.

Going into the break, the Catalans were the better team after the goal, and needed to continue playing well to secure the victory.

SECOND HALF

Barça could have put the game to bad when Ivan Rakitic was alone in front of goal, but the Croatian hit the post. In the very next play, Barça loanee Munir El-Haddadi scored a very nice goal against his former club, because of course he did. Two minutes later, Nani played a fantastic pass to Rodrigo, who fired a rocket to beat Ter Stegen and put the hosts ahead.

Luis Suárez replied quickly and scored the equalizer just five minutes later, and the Catalans were back in the game but couldn't take advantage of the momentum from the goal, with Valencia once again looking to defend deep and look for counter-attack chances. Nani had a very good one but missed his chance, and Valencia looked very satisfied with the draw.

But in the 92nd minute, Luis Suárez won a penalty, and Lionel Messi defeated the greatest goalkeeper in La Liga history when it comes to saving penalties, and Barça won the game. Incredible victory.
