A win is a win. What should have been a sure win was, but not in the most convincing fashion.
This was a hard game to watch. Even for the most devoted fan, this game was anything but entertaining. Don’t get me wrong! It is extremely enjoyable to watch good defense, great possession, and solid pressure. And when your team gets three points out of a La Liga match to keep pace with the teams at the top, it is hugely enjoyable. But this game just didn’t have any offensive spark. Despite how this paragraph may read, that doesn’t upset me. Yes, it would be incredible to see Messi, Neymar, and Suárez go off in every game and score a billion goals, but I understand when sometimes that’s not necessary. A win is a win, and without any needles exertion, we can now look forward to the difficult games that are coming.
This game was also important in that it provided the youngsters and new acquisitions with another opportunity to show what they’re made off, and to keep growing and developing in a less stressful environment. While Umtiti might look as if he could play every game and keep looking as calm and efficient as he’s looked thus far, some of his teammates still need to polish some of their attributes. That being said, let’s look at the players that shined more than others in this game.
I give you this match’s Three Gamboling Goleadores!
1st Goleador: Rafinha
Another goal! Scratch that. Another beautiful goal! In the space of a couple of seconds I celebrated twice, thought Messi was going to score, no wait Suárez, no wait Rafinha, NEYMAAAA…no, not him, he hit the post and now they’re going to clear the ba—RAFINHAAAA! This goal completely makes up for the utter lack of excitement we had to endure in the rest of the game.
2nd Goleador: Neymar
The young Brazilian had another terrific game. Possibly the most involved member of the attacking trio, Neymar was capable in both defense and offense, a stipend of successful and popular Barcelona players. In a game where there wasn’t much offense to speak off, it is hard to write he had three key passes with a straight face, so let’s all agree he had a good game so I don’t have to keep writing unimpressive statistics. *gasp* He had four accurate crosses!
3rd Goleador: Samuel Umtiti
Rock solid. This man needs a nickname. Most creative nickname gets a shout-out in the next Goleadores. Aren’t I gracious what with all the mind-blowing rewards. And, so that it isn’t as subjective as just me choosing the one I enjoy the most, rec your favorite comment to see which one is the most popular.
