Barcelona to exercise option to sign on-loan Brazilian defender on permanent deal - Report

Marlon is a beast, and he'll be a Barça player - permanently

Marlon Santos has been the most pleasant surprise in Barcelona so far this season. The Brazilian joined the club on loan from Fluminense in the summer with the original plan for him to play at Barça B until the end of the season, but he was so impressive in preseason with the first team that the loan will become a permanent deal.

That's according to a report from Diario Sport, which claims the Catalan giants will exercise the option to buy Marlon for a €6 million fee, and they are still going to do it this year. First team coach Luis Enrique and Barça B manager Gerard López are very excited about Marlon's talent and performances, and they have advised sporting director Robert Fernández to sign the 21-year-old as soon as possible.

Marlon has already made three first team appearances (including preseason), and he was very good in all of those. His physical dominance, ball-playing skills and composure stood out while playing with the big stars, and Marlon is expected to be included in the squad for Saturday's La Liga match against Granada and the Champions League game against Manchester City thanks to the injury crisis in the Blaugrana defense.

Well done, Marlon! You're a beast - and you're about to be a Barça player for real. Parabéns, muleke!
