This doesn't look good at all
Terrible news for Barcelona.
Club captain and start midfielder Andrés Iniesta was forced to leave the La Liga match against Valencia on Saturday with what appears to be a very serious knee injury. The Spaniard was the victim of a hard challenge from Valencia's Enzo Pérez, and Iniesta's right knee appeared to hyperextend.
Iniesta immediately fell on the ground and asked to be substituted, and was replaced by Ivan Rakitic after just 14 minutes. Andrés has been at his usual dominant level this season, and while it's impossible to know how serious the problem is, Iniesta was clearly in a lot of pain and didn't move his leg at all. Now we need to know how long he'll be out for, and hopefully it was just a scare.
Andrés has already missed a month of action earlier this season because of a knee problem, but this one looks a lot worse. Hopefully it isn't.
