Leeeeeeeet's play Lucho!!
Two very good performances (and wins) in a row have put Barcelona in a good mood again. Everyone's happy (except Vermaelen, who will not play for a while) and the team has overcome adversity and put together two exciting and encouraging displays of footballing.
On Sunday, there's another tough test in La Liga, as the Blaugrana travel to the always tough Mestalla stadium, home of the fourth-ranked Valencia CF, a team that has not only scored a lot of points in the standings, but they've also played extremely well, though lately that hasn't exactly been the case. Still, playing at Mestalla is never an easy test, and Barça again will have to dig deep to find a way to win, and hopefully convince while doing it.
Aware of the difficulty of the game ahead, coach Luis Enrique rested a good chunk of his favorite starters in the UCL win at APOEL. Bravo (the La Liga starting GK), Mathieu, Busquets, Xavi and Neymar did not start, and only two (Xavi and Busi) got to play last Tuesday. So they will all be ready to go on Sunday. We might also see the return of Andrés Iniesta, who hasn't fully recovered from the calf injury suffered a month ago at Santiago Bernabéu, but he's getting better and participating more in this week's training sessions. Since we have three and a half days left until kickoff, he may be ready for battle against Valencia. That's the only real doubtful piece on Enrique's squad, and he'll have plenty of options to choose.
