Former Barcelona striker David Villa is still filling the net with amazing goals. The Blaugrana legend is now with New York City FC in MLS, where he’s been for the past two-plus seasons and he’s still scoring stunning goal. On Friday, he helped his side beat the Philadelphia Union with one of the best goals of his career.
Late in the match, the Spaniard began chancing a clearance up the field and found himself with an opportunity to have a strike on goal from nearly 50 yards out. He struck a clean half volley high into the air. The looping shot somehow fooled the Union goalkeeper, Andre Blake, dipped under the crossbar for what is sure to be one of the best goals MLS will see all season.
While it’s been a while seen Villa filled up the scoresheet for Barcelona, it’s great to see him still doing well and doing what he does best.
