Osasuna's manager has a plan to stop Barcelona's Lionel Messi: "We need handcuffs"

Interesting strategy!

After a key victory over Real Madrid in El Clásico, Barcelona will look to win La Liga when they host Osasuna at Camp Nou on Wednesday. Every point matters in the final five matches, and the Blaugrana will once again rely on Lionel Messi to give them the victory.

The Barça superstar carried the Catalan giants to victory on Sunday in what was the biggest match of the season for them, and against a team all but relegated to Spain's second division, it shouldn't be that difficult for Messi to make an impact.

So it's natural that Osasuna will have a plan to stop Messi, but we saw in the Clásico that plans don't matter when Leo wants to win the game. But manager Petar Vasiljevic has a pretty interesting plan anyway:

"I've already said that we need a plan for Messi and the players told me [that we need to] carry handcuffs and a pistol. He disconnects, but later he plugs [himself] in for 10 minutes and does what he does."

Of course he's joking, and there's no indication in the quote that Osasuna players will be violent against Messi. They weren't when these teams faced off early in the season, but it will be interesting to see what the Osasuna defenders will try and do.

If Messi is engaged and ready to go, though, then they can do nothing.
