On Monday morning, the first team continued its preparations for its Champions League debut against Apoel Nicosia on Wednesday night at 8.45 PM CET. All of the squad were at the Ciutat Esportiva including Dani Alves and Thomas Vermaelen, despite neither having yet been declared fully fit. The Brazilian is still battling to recover in time from the knee injury that kept him side-lined for Sunday’s 2-0 against Athletic Bilbao.

FC Barcelona have their first midweek game of the season on Wednesday, and it’s their Champions League opener against APOEL Nicosia. And not long after that, they’re in league action against Levante. Luis Enrique will be running six training sessions in between.
