The Jerome Boateng to FC Barcelona fantasy is already over.
On Monday, a surprising report came out of Radio Marca claiming that Barça's sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta met with Boateng's agent and started a negotiation for the signing of the Bayern Munich defender. The report also suggested that the Catalans were going to announce the deal this week.
Well, the rumors are over already. Not because of any unknown source reporting the deal isn't happening. Boateng's own coach made it clear he's not going anywhere. At a press conference in the United States, where Bayern is having their preseason, Pep Guardiola denied the existence of the alleged negotiations:

So there you have it, my friends. Pep himself has ruled out the possibility. Boateng is not coming to Barcelona. Don't get excited.
