Barcelona want a 15 million fee for him

Ilaix Moriba has agreed to join RB Leipzig, but FC Barcelona have still not accepted the German club’s bid for the young midfielder. According to the latest rumors, Barcelona will only accept a bid of 15 million euro. The club has been blunt in laying out Moriba’s options: renew his contract, find a buyer willing to pay 15 million, or sit on the sidelines for a year and leave for free.

Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur, and Bayern Munich have been interested in the youngster, but to this point they have balked at the transfer fee demands. At the moment, it seems the player’s entourage has rejected other options and wants to get his move to Leipzig going.

Barcelona are not happy with his contract demands. They are offering him an increase, but Moriba wants an even bigger one.

The Catalan giants are in an economic crisis, but they are said to think its important not to give in to his agent’s tactics. They will not accept the lower offers of 8 or 10 million euros, reasoning that it’s important to draw a line in the sand. Moriba’s case could be used as an example of the treatment other youth players could receive if they start making demands the club thinks are unreasonable.
