The defender gave away a penalty but scored with a header

Ronald Araujo enjoyed mixed fortunes after coming on as a substitute at half-time of Barcelona’s 5-2 win over Getafe at the Camp Nou.

The center-back was guilty of giving away a penalty in the second half which allowed the visitors to make it 3-2 and make a game that had seemed comfortably pretty nervy.

However, Araujo also popped up with a goal to make it 4-2 late on before Antoine Griezmann sealed all three points from the penalty spot.

Araujo admitted after the game that he needs to improve his concentration but was happy to get on the scoresheet once again.

“I was gutted about the penalty but the goal helped me get over it. I have to concentrate better at moments like that.”

“We have seven finals left now to win the title. We’re doing well despite the defeat in the Clasico and we’re just thinking about winning these seven games.”

“I’m happy with the goal. Messi tells me to get into that area because he crosses hard and low and I have the ability in the air to help the team.”

Ronald Koeman wasn’t too happy with his team’s performance in the second half. He said after the match that, “defensively, we let our concentration slip.”
