Barcelona have been disappointingly quiet when it comes to the European Super League but Gerard Pique has now offered his thoughts on the plan.
The center-back took to Twitter to make it pretty clear he’s not too keen on the new league which looks set to collapse after all six English clubs pulled out late on Tuesday.

Carles Alena, who is on loan at Getafe and set to face Barcelona in La Liga on Thursday, is the only other player to speak publicly on the subject so far. He offered his opinion at a press conference this week.
“These are things that I do not want to get involved in. They are things for those who have to decide and have to agree. But I think that for football in general it is not good for the Super League to be created. We will see how that issue ends.”
As it stands Barcelona haven’t yet pulled out of the Super League, although president Joan Laporta has reportedly said the club will only join if members approve.
Meanwhile, the Super League has released a statement in which it vows to “reshape the project” after seeing the English clubs quit.
“Despite the announced departure of the English clubs, forced to take such decisions due to the pressure on them, we are convinced our proposal is fully aligned with European law and regulations.
“Given the current circumstances, we shall reconsider the most appropriate steps to reshape the project, always having in mind our goals of offering fans the best experience possible while enhancing solidarity payments for the entire football community.”
It’s difficult to see how the Super League proceeds now six of the founding members have pulled out and the plans look to be in tatters...for now at least.
