GREAT! ATLETI! SO LUCKY!
Barcelona eliminated Real Sociedad from the Copa del Rey on Thursday and advanced to the semifinals, and the Spanish Federation took the time on Friday to draw the last four teams in the Spanish Cup in two semis matchups.
And, SURPRISE!!! Barcelona gets the toughest draw of them all.

That's right. Barça will face Atlético Madrid over the next two weeks to find out who gets a spot in the Copa Final. The first game will be played at the Vicente Calderón, and the decisive return leg will take place at Camp Nou, which is probably the only good news coming out of the draw. At least we get to play at home.
The Blaugrana and the Colchoneros have become real rivals since Luis Enrique took charge as Barça manager in 2014. These two sides have faced each other multiple times, and Diego Simeone has always brought his best defensive gameplan to face the Catalan giants.
Barça has a great league record against Atleti, but in Cup competitions it's a tight race. Since 2013, they've faced each other in four different knockout matchups, with two wins for Barça (2013 Spanish Super Cup, 2015 Copa del Rey quarterfinals) and two wins for Atlético (2014, 2016 UEFA Champions League quarterfinals).
The other Copa del Rey semifinal is between Deportivo Alavés and Celta Vigo, who knocked out Real Madrid in the quarterfinals thanks to a goal from Cheryshev.
