It looked A LOT worse
When Sergio Busquets was the victim of a very nasty challenge from Nicolás Escalante in the eighth minute of Barcelona's La Liga win against Eibar on Sunday, things looked very serious. The image from the challenge was gruesome and worrisome, but it turns out his injury is really not as bad as it looks.
Barcelona released a statement on Monday, and the update on Sergio's condition is a good one:
Results on Monday confirm that Busquets has a sprained external lateral ligament in his right ankle. The player is out and his return will depend on his recovery.

Although the club statement doesn't give a timetable for Busquets' return, the pivote will miss two weeks of action, which doesn't rule him out for the Champions League Round of 16 matches against Paris Saint-Germain, as initially feared.
