Report: Barcelona complete Paco Alcácer transfer, announcement set for Sunday

Barcelona have a new striker

It's now almost official: Barcelona have a new striker.

The Blaugrana have completed a transfer deal for Valencia striker Paco Alcácer, who will sign a five-year contract with the Catalan club, according to multiple reports in Spain. Barcelona will pay Valencia a €30 million fee with an additional €2 million coming in performance bonuses. The official announcement is set for Sunday after the La Liga match against Athletic Bilbao, sources told Barça Blaugranes. Alcácer will be presented on Monday or Tuesday at Camp Nou.

Alcácer did not play for Valencia on Saturday's league match against Eibar, and manager Paco Ayestarán said he decided to bench Paco because "he wasn't in ideal condition to compete. We'll see what happens in the next few days, you all know the news and it's tough. To give it your best you need to have your body and soul here." That basically confirms the Spanish international will join the Blaugrana.

Paco's arrival means that young striker Munir El-Haddadi will leave Barça on loan. A deal with Celta Vigo is in place, but Valencia are still trying to convince Munir to join the Bats as Alcácer's replacement for the season. If that doesn't happen, they'll search for a replacement. But one thing is for sure: Paco Alcácer will be a Barcelona player.

Excited?
