OFFICIAL: Barcelona, Valencia agree loan deal for Munir El-Haddadi

It has nothing to do with the Paco Alcácer deal, but it does too

You're probably still celebrating Paco Alcácer joining Barcelona, but something else happened on Tuesday.

The club announced that Munir El-Haddadi will be joining Valencia on a season-long loan deal. Here's more details on the agreement, which includes something important:

FC Barcelona and Valencia CF have reached an agreement for the loan of the player Munir for the season 2016/17. The club from Valencia will take over the player's contract for the season at the end of which Valencia CF will have the option to buy the player for the figure of 12 million euros. FC Barcelona would be elegible for a percentage of any future transfer away from Valencia due to an agreed sell on clause.

The last few sentences are key here. First of all, there's a buy option in the contract, which means Valencia can take Munir on the cheap if he plays well this season. The second pice of news is also important: if Valencia buy Munir for €12 million and then sell him to another club later, Barça will get a percentage of it. That is good news financially, but it also could mean that we never get to see Munir again if he absolutely kills over at Valencia, gets bought and then is sold to, say, the Premier League.

Just to be clear: this loan is not part of the Alcácer deal. That was a totally separate negotiation between Barça and Valencia, but once Paco left, Valencia needed a replacement, so the easiest option was to get Munir. The deals are sort of connected, but they're not one deal. They're separate. Got it?

Anyway, good luck, Munir! Thank you for your services so far, and may you come back some day! And if you don't, get us some sweet cash!
