Rayo Vallecano v FC Barcelona: Messi and Neymar on target again (0-2) | FC Barcelona

First half goals from Messi and Neymar kept Barça top of the table, but with Rayo down to ten men for the last half hour, it could and perhaps should have been a bigger win for the league leaders. But they maintained their unbeaten record and have still to concede a league goal.

Pedro Maria Artola knew his record would be broken. The ex-Barça goalkeeper set the record in 1978 when he went the first 560 minutes of the season through six weeks of La Liga play without giving up a goal. Today, 37 years later, his record has been broken by Claudio Bravo.

A record for the whole team, says Mathieu | FC Barcelona

"The team are really happy" he said afterwards. "It’s some time since I’ve played at left back, but it felt fine. The manager asked me to play there, and so I did. It’s not a new position for me. I know how to play there. Tonight I was able to play more attacking football, making as much of a contribution as I could. We won and didn’t concede any goals."

A reinvigorating win, says Luis Enrique | FC Barcelona

Mario Mandzukic hit back for Atletico and threatened to spark a revival, but hopes of staging a comeback were stopped in their tracks when Guilherme Siqueira had a penalty before the break saved by Diego Alves. Substitute Alessio Cerci thought he had scored a consolation goal for Atleti in stoppage time, but the effort was chalked off for handball and he was subsequently sent off for a second yellow card.

Almeria 2 Elche 2 | Sky Sports Football

Almeria took the lead through Victor Rodriguez before Jose Antonio Verza made things level at the break. Jonathas put the visitors back in front 10 minutes after the interval before he saw red for a second bookable offence and Tomer Hemed rescued a point for Francisco Rodriguez's men late on.

Malaga 2 Granada 1 | Sky Sports Football

Malaga were stunned when Youssef El-Arabi gave Granada the lead in the first minute, but the hosts hit back when Roque Santa Cruz levelled just after the hour mark. Marcos Angeleri saw red in the 73rd minute but, despite being a man down, Malaga clinched all three points when Vitorino Antunes converted a penalty 10 minutes from time after Manuel Iturra was adjudged to have handled in the area.

Eibar 3 Levante 3 | Sky Sports Football

The visitors seamed to be cruising but an own goal by Pedro Lopez at the start of the second half revitalised the hosts and they then drew level through Saul Berjon's wonder goal. Victor Casadesus looked to have sealed the points for Levante with a superb strike of his own in the 79th minute, but substitute Piovaccari had the last word, with the Italian striking into the back of the net in the third minute of added time.
