FC Barcelona and RCD Espanyol meet this evening at 9.30 PM CET in the Estadi Montilivi (Girona) in the first ever edition of the Catalan Super Cup. The meeting between the two biggest clubs in Catalonia comes after neither side managed to collect three points at the weekend. Barça were beaten 3-1 in the Clasico with Real Madrid, while Espanyol played out a dull 0-0 draw at home to Deportivo.

Mascherano wins 2013/14 player of the year award | FC Barcelona

Javier Mascherano has been named FC Barcelona player of the year for 2013/14. On Wednesday morning, the Argentinian was presented with the award that honours Aldo Rovira, a club member who died in an accident in 2009. The recipient is decided each year by a jury formed by senior figures in the Catalan and Spanish media. Leo Messi has won three of the four previous editions, while Éric Abidal was honoured in 2011/12.
