The inclusion of De Gea (23), Bartra (23) and Carvajal (22) along with Alcacer (21) meant it was the youngest Spain side since Del Bosque took charge in 2008, with an average age of 25.

The FC Barcelona B team came away with a hard-earned point at El Sardinero. The players somehow held up to a Racing team that continually threatened throughout the second half but repeatedly couldn’t break through Barcelona’s defensive wall, and its stellar keeper Adrian Ortola.
