The saga continues with La Liga making things difficult.
The Neymar transfer saga continued on Thursday, taking a turn that was rumored to be a possibility, yet just didn’t seem like a turn that made much sense. La Liga officials have made it clear that they indeed rejected PSG’s attempt at handing over the Neymar buyout money.
We can confirm that the lawyers of the player (Neymar) have come to La Liga to deposit the clause and that it has been rejected. It is all the information we will give so far.

There are a plethora of ways that PSG can avoid Financial Fair Play penalties in getting ahold of Neymar. So it was expected to be a somewhat clean transfer once the posturing had been done by Barcelona and La Liga officials beforehand.
Reportedly, PSG had a lawyer working on their behalf go to La Liga’s headquarters and give the check in its full amount of €222 million to league officials. However, as La Liga president Javier Tebas threatened earlier, they indeed chose to not accept the payment in its entirety.
Should Neymar turn up himself to pay the release clause, La Liga officials would not be able to reject the money. However, until that happens, we’ll likely be stuck in a waiting state of La Liga trying to block the deal in an attempt to save the integrity of Financial Fair Play.
