Barcelona start the new league season against a very tough team, and you should not miss it
After two painful losses in El Clásico, Barcelona have to move on and find a way to be a good team without Neymar and under incredible pressure to perform. The Blaugrana start their league season today against Real Betis, and this will not be an easy match.
Betis have made some fantastic signings in this transfer window and have brought in Quique Setién as manager. Setién did a wonderful job coaching Las Palmas for the last two seasons, turning a small Spanish side into one of the best teams in La Liga.
With a better squad and a historic club with great supporters, Setién has all the tools to make Betis a force, and today’s match gives him an opportunity to make a statement of intent.
Barça are in crisis, with the president and the board under immense pressure to make good signings to replace Neymar, and the team not looking strong enough to even compete, let alone beat Real Madrid this season.
The season starts against a very good Betis side, and Barça don’t have Luis Suárez and Andrés Iniesta, who will miss the next few weeks because of injury. Two key players are out, the crisis is real and the pressure is giant. Can Barça rise above the cloud of doubts and show they’re still Barça? You really need to watch today’s game.
