The talks may bring something productive
There are just days to go now until the close of the transfer window but Sport is reporting that Barcelona and Liverpool have finally started to make positive steps in negotiations over Philippe Coutinho.
Apparently the negotiations to this point haven’t really been as productive because Liverpool still believed Coutinho could come back and play for the Reds.
The report from Sport suggests that they are now past that point and are looking to Bayern Munich’s Renato Sanches as a replacement for Coutinho.
Once they have signed Sanches, they’ll be willing to officially offload Coutinho to Barcelona for around €150 million, apparently.
However, as usual with Coutinho talks thus far, there are conflicting reports around the world. Sky Sports’ Guillem Balague reports that no progress has been made and the status is the exact same.
No changes on Coutinho. Liverpool don't sell, FCB preparing offer, Catalan media being optimistic (without reason)
Much like it was with Dembele, things could start to progress quickly and Coutinho could be a Barcelona player before long, or this may continue to stall out and nothing will happen. We’ll just have to wait and see.
