The manager has been asked about the speculation
Bayern Munich manager Thomas Tuchel was asked about rumors he wants Barcelona’s Ronald Araujo at the club after his team’s shock defeat to Frankfurt on Saturday.
Bayern were 3-0 down after just 36 minutes and went on to lose 5-1 in a real shock result.
Speculation before the game had claimed Tuchel had been on the phone to Araujo and that Bayern were willing to splash out on Araujo.
Here’s how Tuchel replied when asked about the rumors:
“I won’t comment on that in any direction. We only talk about our players - I also spoke to my mother on the phone and there were no reports of it,” he told reporters.
Araujo’s camp have been quick to play down talk of a conversation between Araujo and Tuchel. The defender may well be a transfer target for Bayern but he is completely committed to Barcelona.
