The youngster needs regular game time
Barcelona have reportedly decided to loan out Konrad de la Fuente next season in order for the youngster to try and play regular first-team football.
The 19-year-old was often seen in first-team training and in Ronald Koeman’s matchday squads last season but only managed three appearances.
Yet Barca continue to have “high hopes” for the youngster and think a loan will help aid his development next season, according to Marca.
No clubs are mentioned in particular but the report reckons Konrad will either stay in Spain or head to the Premier League, Bundesliga or Ligue 1.
It’s a move that makes a lot of sense given Konrad barely featured in 2020-21 and Barca have added Sergio Aguero to the attack, may move for Memphis Depay and should also have Ansu Fati back fit and available in 2021-22.
Konrad is contracted to Barcelona until 2022 but the deal does include the option for another two years.
A loan move will allow Konrad the chance to gain some valuable playing time and offer the youngster the chance to prove to Barca he has what it takes to go on and have a successful career at the Camp Nou.
