The midfielder is working hard to improve
Barcelona midfielder Pedri has been talking about where he can improve and says he’s working hard to be more “decisive.”
The 18-year-old has enjoyed a phenomenal season after joining Barcelona from Las Palmas and is currently with the Spain squad at Euro 2020.
Pedri became a regular in the Barcelona team in 2020-21 and popped up with three goals and three assists in La Liga, although the youngster could, and probably should, have had a few more.
The teenager offered appeared reluctant to go for goal himself but says it’s something he’s working hard to improve.
“I know that it is something that I must improve, finish plays and be more decisive,” he said in an interview with RAC1. “I’m working on it, on that improvement.”
Pedri is currently preparing to face Croatia in the last 16 of Euro 2020 and offered his thoughts on the match against the 2018 World Cup finalists.
“It is going to be a very nice game between two teams that always want to have the ball. It is going to be a magnificent match,” he added. Hopefully we can reach the Wembley final and win it.”
The Barcelona midfielder also said he’d be happy to step up and take a penalty if the game ends in a shoot-out, “I have no problem taking a penalty. Like everything in football, you have to practice it in case there is a penalty shoot-out one day.”
Pedri has started all three of Spain’s Euro 2020 matches so far and will be expected to keep his place for Monday’s clash against Croatia in Copenhagen. The winners of the match progress to a quarter-final against either France or Switzerland.
