A look at the latest gossip

Barcelona get in touch with Goretzka

Today’s rumors start with the unlikely news that Barcelona have been in touch with Leon Goretzka to see if he fancies leaving Bayern Munich for the Camp Nou, according to Sport1.

The midfielder actually wants to stay at Bayern but hasn’t yet reached an agreement on a new deal and has recently changed agents which seems to have complicated things.

Barcelona, Real Madrid and some Premier League clubs have all expressed an interest in Goretzka but it seems that staying at Bayern is the midfielder’s preferred choice.

Damsgaard on Barca’s radar

Barcelona are also believed to be thinking about Denmark’s Mikkel Damsgaard who has caught the eye at Euro 2020, according to Sport.

The midfielder scored a stunner against Russia to help secure his team a place in the last 16 and become Denmark’s youngest-ever goalscorer at a major tournament in the process.

Damsgaard is still only 20 and currently plays for Sampdoria. The club is already thinking about cashing in on the youngster after his impressive displays.

Five teams keen on Braithwaite

When it comes to sales Barcelona aren’t doing too well when it comes to offloading players but do appear to have a number of suitors for Martin Braithwaite.

The Dane is expected to leave this summer following the arrivals of Sergio Aguero and Memphis Depay, and Barca have already told the striker he won’t have minutes next season.

Premier League clubs West Ham, Brighton, Burnley and Norwich are all keen, along with an unnamed Russian club, so say Sport.

Inaki Pena to leave Barcelona?

And finally we end with news that Inaki Pena has asked to leave Barcelona and wants to depart unless he’s promoted to be Marc-Andre ter Stegen’s back-up for next season.

Mundo Deportivo reports Pena is keen to take a “step forward” in his career and either wants to be part of the first-team squad or go out and gain some experience.

It looks like Pena may be granted his wish. MD reckon that Barca have turned down his request and informed the youngster Ronald Koeman wants him for next season.
