Barca bring in record €990m but spending also up | ESPN
Barcelona have announced record revenue for the sixth season running with the club closing their accounts for the 2018-19 season with a recorded income of €990 million ($1.1 billion). It’s the second season running in which the Spanish champions have broken the billion-dollar mark. They became the first sports team to ever pass the milestone last year when they brought in €914m ($1.019 billion).

Back at it again in Kobe | FC Barcelona
FC Barcelona completed the first of two planned workouts on Thursday with a morning session held at the Kobe Universidade Memorial Stadium. It was the team’s hottest training session yet since arriving in Japan last Sunday, with temperatures here in Kobe hovering around 30º C (85º F) and with the relative humidity at around 75%.

As in Tokyo last Sunday, Rakuten held a reception on Wednesday evening to welcome FC Barcelona to Kobe. The event at the same Portopia Hotel where the team are staying was attended by the whole squad, who had only just arrived in the city for the second leg of their Japanese tour.

Barcelona have marked out signing a left-back as a priority. The board believe Jordi Alba needs competition and they want Real Betis’s Junior Firpo. Barcelona will focus their efforts on signing the Dominican defender, although are keeping other options open like Phillip Max (Augsurg).

Philippe Coutinho​ will not be heading back to Liverpool this summer, with manager Jurgen Klopp claiming a move for the Barcelona star “is just not possible” at this stage. The Brazilian left the Reds for Barcelona in a massive £142 million ($201m) deal in January 2018, but his time with the Spanish giants has not been easy.

Jean-Clair Todibo set for Barcelona exit | Football Espana
Todibo only joined the Catalan giants in January this year, ending a long running contractual dispute with previous club Toulouse in Ligue 1. The report claims that ‘anything can happen’ with the player this summer, with an exit from the Camp Nou appearing increasingly likely.

Vermaelen to join Vissel Kobe | Marca
Thomas Vermaelen is set to join a number of his former Barcelona teammates and become the latest to sign for Japanese side Vissel Kobe. The Belgian will join the side late on Wednesday evening, where he’ll be reunited with Andres Iniesta, David Villa and Sergi Samper.

The agreement was signed last week and this afternoon it was finalised in the offices at the Ciudad Deportiva Joan Gamper.
